Dear sec1s,

It has really been some time since i last saw you guys. I hope all of you will continue to do well in both your studies as well as your cca. FOr those that did not manage to pass all of your subjects, spend some time to read up and study on what you are not sure during this holiday. It is actually a good chance for you to catch up. "IF you can give reasons to why you can't, why not give reasons to why you can." It is all about believing in yourself.

Alright today 50th Anniversary, like what joel sir had said, it is of cause good job. Compare and look at the difference between other units and ours. What is it that we are so special about? Up to you to think through. Okay, good work for today. But please do not always think that everything will be good. It is best to be humble and keep up the good work that you guys have always been upholding.

Okay, tommorow, it will be the day that we hope to reward everyone for their hardwork. We wish to really reward everyone for the hardwork, but always due to problems, we are unable to really "reward" as what we wish. Lets work hard and hopefully, next year we can enjoy such success and there a chance to call for celebration. Meanwhile, there are several training during the holidays. DO take note that it is meant for us to ensure that your drills standard does not drop below the expectation.

Alright, other than that, i wish you a happy holidays and do approach us if you have any problems.

Regards,
CI Jiahao

Hi all,

Swearing in is over. Our AC has spoken alot about his experiences from his life as an npcc officer or even cadet. Well, i surely hope that actually broden your views on npcc.

Alright, talk less about that. Im sure everyone is thinking about when you will be promoted am i right? Well i can tell you it will be sooon! Real soooon.. after ur exams! Seems cool and look cool with that one strip on your shoulder? Mhmm, yes in a way, but no so in another way. Look at it in this way, rank is not something that you use to show off. It is just something to show you and the people around you that you have grown up. Ever watched spiderman? Theres a line in the movie that is pretty much similar to this," with great power, comes great responsibility". Something similar to your rank. Being promoted, yes continue to keep up the high standard and keep on improving! Now it is the time for you to focus on your studies! Towards the end of the year, lets hope to have more fun installed for all the hardwork that those who are currently still here have put in.

All the best for your up coming examinations ahead!

Regards,
CI Jia Hao

there is training tomorrow 7 September, 2009
Fall in, in PT kit by the brick road by 7.30AM
Bring along your report book, service sheet, water bottle and FULL U
Dear sec1s,

It is good to see the group of you staying strong and have been attending training for the pass almost one year. Be it that you accepct it as you cca or not, this is still your cca. If everyone here can put in effort to do what you need to do, it will be great. There is no need to repeat for what we are saying and doing. The classic example, doing drills and campcraft. Since you want to learn new drills, then you have to put in the effort to ensure that you do not forget what you have been taught. Isnt it great to do drills just once and move on? Like it was on friday, where your drills session only lasted merely for 30 mins (where you actually did your drills).

Meanwhile now, back to campcraft, you have to ensure that you know how to tie the basic knots. If you ask me why, i am more than happy to tell you why. Pitching a tent requires several knots. Let me list them down for those that you know.
Bowline,half hitch,clove hitch.
For those that you do not know, there is one very important one that is the "tent guy loop", not difficult if you do put in effort to learn. We will talk about it when we do have more time to actually explain on it.

One of the next thing I would like to highlight is regarding the way you talk to each and everyone of your squadmate. I do realise that some of you do not really talk nicely to one another. Remember and keep in mind that you guys will be squadmates for the next 3 years, or so. You will definitly need help from one another within this period of them. Do not think that because you are good now means that you are good in future. You never knows what the future is like and some days you need to rely on your squadmates.

Please put in constant effort to ensure that you know your stuffs well so that we do not need to waste time going thru thigns over and over again. Regarding responsibility, please start to learn to look after your own things well, better still that you can start to take care of each and everyone of your squadmates. I know that most of you come from a well protected family. Learn to be independent as you are all growing up. Remember the fish story? They cannot always give you a fish, you have to start learning.

At the back of your T-shirt, have you ever wonder what does those words means? Alright, i will explain again some other time when i am free, till now so far, see you guys on monday and make sure that you come prepared so that we can make the best out of training.

Dear Sec1s

It is good to see efforts made by you people for the drill test today.Especially when you people took the initiative to practise your drills during your break from the drill test. Yes, although it is good to see you people happily practising your drills, do take note for your mistakes alrights?

practise makes perfect, however you must know and correct your mistakes. only then you will improve on your drills or anything else(:
also, i realised that you guys do not like to open your mouth to answer the CLs. let's not make it a habit. so please do remenber to answer your CLs. i do not see why must instructors/CLs keep telling you people to open your golden mouth. okay?

it is common for people to be missing from trainings but try to get them back. if any of you still remenber, i had a talk with you people before. When it is your turn to pass out, how many people you want to rom up your contingent? many of you told me, you wished to see your squad total strength to turn up. So, for people who have been missing, i hope to see you people for the next training(: please do not just disappear, at least tell us the reason.

i know that some of you are very worried for your 3rd class drill test and some of you even think that you have failed the test.have you people heard of this phrase? -"Never consider the possibility of failure; as long as you persist, you will be successful." by brian tracy.if you do not understand this phrase, feel free to approach me during training time. i am more than happy to explain to any of you.
so, if you need help in any areas. for example drills, campcraft. approach us for help. we will definitely help you people. take some initiative and talk to us. Do not stand there and behaved as though you know. why? because we will be harsher on you people. we do not like being harsh to you people. we also prefer to have some laughter in the squad. in order for us to do that, you people have to show us the standard first.

your jiahao sir has posted a super long post so i shall not post more about anything else. but believe us, we are friendly people (: so approach us if you faced any difficulties.

Dear Sec1s,

It has again been a tiring weekend for everyone. I want to compliment on the effort put in for your drills during the 2 training. It is a good effort to start off and to strive for excellence. If the standard of your drills can be maintained at this level or even surpass this standard till the day you graduate, it will really show a great improvement to both your character and personalities.

Like what i told some of you, it is time to grow up. You can still choose to remain as kids but when you are a kid, you depend heavily on you parents to support you. It is the time to start to learn to be independent. There is this famous quote, "It is better to teach a man to fish than to give the man a fish." If you do not understand what it means, I'll break it up for you to understand.
If someone gives a you a fish, will you learn how to fish? What if one day, the person that gives the fish no longer gives you a fish? Without the person that gives you the fish, where will you find the fish from? This is the result of being too dependent, which is not very good.
If someone teaches you how to fish, you no longer need to depend on the person to give you a fish everyday, is it much better that your life no longer depends on someone else?

Many millionairs start off with a simple effort to make a change in their life. Do you want to be the next millionair, someone successful or to achieve something that you wish to?

Let me give you another quote i find it very meaningful, " Achievement " what does it mean to you? This poster i saw define "Achievement - start with what is possible, then what is necessary and without even knowing it, you are achieving something that is impossible you think it is! "
I'll make it easier for you guys to understand by relating it to what i want to achieve in life. I want to build a light aircraft for 2. Many of you might think it is impossible, but it is not impossible. A girl in the America States, at the age of 17, built her own plane and it was approved by the federal aviation authorities. Notice, It is a Girl, aged 17 and the plane is approved by FAA. The entire article can be found on youtube. Alright back to where i am, breaking up the above quote into different segments where i will work to achieve what i want to.
Start with what is possible: I started off with studying and making sure that i know my work well. Aircraft are vehicles that requires very precise work in order to ensure safe flight, therefore studying in school is important to ensure safety during operation of aircraft. School teaches you basic of technical work, therefore, it is also very important. By ensure that i have started off with a good foundation ensures that work is much more simpler ahead.
Do what is necessary: Reading up is one of the way to improve knowledge on construction of an aircraft. An aircraft may look simple but it is not so simple, therefore you have to do what is necessary like doing research and reading up. I do youtube and search for this documentary "Air Crash Investigation". It is a documentary that investigate why an aircraft fail and crash. By knowing such information, you ensure that you do not commit the same mistake.

This are some of the simple examples, it is endless on what you can do to achieve something. Back to you guys, you may not have dreams as big as me, but this is the way you can try to think and figure out how you want to achieve what you want. You can put this into action in NPCC too. Passing drills, campcraft are not any difficult things, just do what is necessary and so on like i told you earlier.

I think it is about time i stop if not things can go on endlessly.

However, lastly, if you have any problems regarding how you should do up your uniform or problems in class, do approach me, im really friendly, if you dont believe. I hope this will motivate you all to do better and achieve the best out of each and everyone of you. We, instructors are simple people, we all want you to pass out, not only with a good parade, but also something that you can bring out and become a useful person in future. Till then, i see each of you on the next training with the best of your uniform.

Ps: for those that do not want to attend training, it is their lost. Valuable experiences gained only throught real experiences cannot be compared with money. It is the level of maturity that makes you understand. If you do not understand what is above, you will some day. It is either now or later, where you will be at a lost to other more competitive people.
