Thank you all once again for the wonderful surprises. Both winning the captain ball and the cake of course. The cake maybe simple, but i believe it is baked together with what is important, sincerity. That is the essecene of cooking good food. It is good to experiment what is the best way to bake a delicious cake. No one succeed on their first try, and if they do, it is probably the work of luck. Lesson can be drawn from everything in life, do ponder over why things happen this way, you may get valuable lessons from it.
Lets look at the captain ball competition, there is only one major factor that really shows a winning team. That is the teamwork between the group itself. Before any thing can take place, the teamwork must be there. Planning stratagies cannot work without having teamwork in place first. Of cause it is great to see that no one is left out from the team. Everyone has at least played one round for the game. Good job, do keep it up! Congrats for making your unit proud once again.
However, on the other hand, maybe you guys can start to remind each other on basic discipline. A good example to start with would be on the bus trip returning. Yes, despite being happy for winning, basic discipline should be observed. The amount of noise created in the bus was way too much that sir alan have to do something about it. Of cause there a limit to everything, do try not to exceed the limit of everything else life will start to turn miserable.
Okay, so i believe we had enough fun for the start of the year already, its time to get serious and get working till we have some other time to sit back and relax, which would probably be far away. Always keep in mind what to pioritize, fun, discipline, homework, npcc and probably everything in life. Life is all about making the right choice, one wrong step would land you somewhere different.

first of all, Jiahao, weijun and I would like to thank everyone for the effort to do up the performance. And yes, it was a pleasant surprise for the three of us.
We are pleased to see the unity in the sec 2s and are proud to be the CIs of the squad. However, you guys can fare much better than this. yes, you guys have improved but there is still room for improvement. alright? (: always remenber the story of it is easy to break one chopstick alone but it is way difficult to break 16 chopsticks at one time.
and yes, sec 2s performance is a success.
also, now that you guys are having march holidays. i strongly urge you guys to start working on CSSP. if you have any questions regarding CSSP, please approach any of us. we will be more than happy to help.
regards

Campcraft Competition is over. I believed that results are already out to each and everyone of you before even it is being announced. For those that do not know anything about the results, the guys did a 41 and the girls team did 70.
People always say that results dont matter that much, its the process that matters. This is not true unless you really want to be the one left out. I would not say that results is not important but i would not say that results are very important. The whole idea of having the results is to show ourself where do we actually stand after so much hard work. If results dint matter, it would be living in your own world. The world is a very competitive place for all of us in future, if we did not really care about results, we will never actually know where we are standing and how great we are.
" We did well this year. I believe will contribute gd pts under this section. Wondering when HQ will send the revise UOPA form.
What matters is that everything went up this year.
Sending a mix team with sec 2s inside, I see potential in some of the Sec 2s .. can see determination to win .. they will be the future captains in 2 yrs time. "
Email from our dear OC
After 11 trainings, sweat and pain where a common scene during training. Each and everyone of you have work hard and put in the best effort. Congratulations to all that have made it pass the first unit base competition. I hope this serves as an eye opening experiences to all. I hope each and everyone of the team member will bring back great memories despite the short 11 training.
Campcraft comp and level camp have come to an end for you. Look at how fast time actually passes. Before you actually know, you are already a quarter in the next year. I would really like to still stress on self discipline. The day that the instructors stop talking about discipline matters would be the day that you have attained self discipline. The important thing in life and also part of growing up. If feels great being a CI watching kids grow up, not punishing them. Despite being angry at times, it also makes me feel prould to have a squad like this.
After all the compliments, i believe some of your heads are starting to get big. Stay humble and continue working hard. Stopping here is just not enough to get you anywhere. Happy hours are valid till 12 march 2010, hopefully all of you are able to get back on earth and start working. Do not forget that we actually have quit some work to get done with. Yes, talking about work, how is the CSSP going? One hint, if you do not know what to do or how to continue, please do find me, or anyother cis attatched to your squad. We would gladly help you out. If you ask, you will get what you want. If you do not, you will never get what you want. We are not really mean people by the way. I see you guys soon, till then.
Regards,
CI Jiahao

Congrats to all for the effort put in in contribution to obtaining a gold unit for the unit once again. Regardless of doing it for yourself or for the unit give yourself a round of aplause. Do not expect rewards from anyone because this is your unit. The sense of achievement is the best reward that you can get. It is indeed a good way to start the year. Hopefully this year can be as fruitful as last year. To be frank, building up a gold unit is never easy. It works the same way as buiding a house. There are many steps to it. First, laying the foundation, slowly building up each brick by each brick. things may appear easy as they seem, but they never actually do. You will understand more when you get into the sec3 life.
Each and everyone of us have to grow up. Taking on responsibility is part of growing up. Being an IC/AIC is part of taking responsibility. To be someone successful in the future, we need to be able to take responsibility. Being an AIC or IC does not mean that you will be treated badly. Stress will come into play for sure as this is part of daily life. Knowing how to juggle stress with an apporiate amount of knowledge can save you in future. NPCC is nothing but a playground for your to learn your stuff well before you actually move on to the real world. This has always been what im looking at. You can make mistakes here, but make sure you learn from it. You can try anything funny here, but learn from the outcome. It is really a playground for you to pick yourself up when you fall. Unlike the real world, there is no chance given at all. Please start to understand that everyone is growing up, be it you see things happily and live happily or see things as a chore and live life sadly, its all up to you. Dont be afraid to let us know your problems as we are people that once went throught what you went throught. Things today are paved nicely into training program for you unlike our time where there wasant really anyone that bother much about training program.
I believe all of you have heard about news that some of you will not be making it back to NPAP. However, i would urge everyone that is not accecpt to not give up hope. Hopefully, they do not have enough cadets from other units and they require us to fill up the slot. Please do not give up hope as you can still try again when you are in sec3. Nobody likes such things to happen but when things happen, we will have to face it.
Icecream sales today seems like a good day, good job and continue to keep up the good work. Of cause not to be complacent. This will only make things worst. Campcraft please keep in mind what you need to do as the competition is on the 27 feb, week immediately after your CNY. BTW there is no campcraft comp training on the 12 of feb
Alright, have a mighty holiday ahead and may all of your pocket be filled with ang pow. Wishing you guys an advanced lunar new year.
Regard,
CI Jia Hao

update cca orentation
Welcome to a new year and its really a new year after the cca orentation. You guys (of cause guys refer to girls also) are now officially sec2. The life of sec 2 will begin like how you guys did last year.
A rough discription of the training and enjoyment that you will have this year.
This is the year which each and everyone of you will be training to be a leader. Of course even before training to be a leader, you will need to work on the squad bonding (which is very important) and of cause your hard skills which ranges from drills - campcraft and everything that you will be taught. This is to ensure that when you are training to be a leader, you have the knowledge on what to lead. In this which we will go into details more in the next half of the year. Well if everyone puts in that little effort to ensure that you do not forget what we teach you everytime, we will not have the problem of delaying our training program like last year and thus have more fun in the year. Dont worry about having fun as the CIs will love to have them more then anyone else. I myself personally join the CI team not to issue punishment but to ensure that people that remainded in NPCC are groomed to the fullest potential.
A good start for the year. I did not expect that the drills you guys gave would be of the similar standard like last year. However, please do not be too confident that in the future you over look things on the smallest details. FDS was great, i believe other instructors and even joel sir have commended on the performance. This is what you guys are looking for, " A job well done ". well to put it simple, your effort paid off. Congrats to all of you.
I hope that the entire squad strength will start to stablize. Please encourage ur squadmates to come for training. I know training is dreadful, but what could be a better way to improve urself than to go throught some pain. where no pain no gain. Once again i wish everyone here a happy new year and may all things go smoothly for all of you (make sure you dont create troubles for me as well)
Okay side track slightly, regarding NPAP, i need the names of those who really wants to attend NPAP of cause i told you all before that I need 100% commitment. Okay whoever reads this please inform your own squad and get me a name list of who wants to attend regardless of whether if there is the white uniform. I am not dashing everyone hope but its just there is a chance we will not get gold. Training wise again, bus will be charted to ferry you to and fro training area. Dismissal time will be around 7pm. Please make sure that you get your parent's consent before telling me that you want. And do consider the fact that you need to study and most of you have Campcraft Competition training. If you do not wish to take part, its also okay.
For this task, squad IC please get me a list ready by wednesday(13Jan2010) and email to me. repulse_exe@hotmail.com please state who you are.
Now for campcraft competition,
Campcraft Competition Dates are as followed:
15/01

there will be a brieifing this wednesday. please listen to announcement
Okay, for now thats about the things. Lets all hope that 2010 will be a better year for everyone.
